On 25th April 2009 the staff of The Tongsai Bay joined other environmentally conscious hotels and local fisherman to clean up Bangrak beach and Plai Laem market.

This activity was set up by GIDOA (Green Island Dive Operator Association) and THA (Thai Hotel Association) and there were over 200 participants. Most of the rubbish collected was plastic bags, plastic bottles and foam.

The beach clean-up is an on-going bi-monthly effort to raise awareness for the environmental issues on the island as well as to keep Ko Samui’s beaches clean.
