On 31^st July 2009 The Tongsai Bay representing the nanny Hotel of Plai Lerm Low Carbon School, had the grand opening of the garbage bank. The chairman of this event was the deputy of Koh Samui Municipality (environmental section) Mr. Surapong and Mr. Wittaya the head of the village, also THA members from Kanda Buri hotel, Paradise hotel, Six Senses hotel, Ban Taling Ngam hotel and the village committee were present. The green hearth students were presented topics such as how to separate the recycled garbage, orange peel / leftover vegetables / herb fermentation, leftover food fertilizer and how to make paper handicrafts from egg boxes. The Tongsai Bay’s staff also set up environmental conscious games for the children.
