Recently, Samui Airport celebrated the Grand Opening of the new passenger terminals and the Samui Park Avenue. The event was presided over by Mr. Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth, the CEO of Bangkok Airways, and attended by over 300 guests including the VIPs, business partners, celebrities, and members of press.
The fun-filled party, taking place at the Samui Park Avenue, kicked off with the “Samui Recipe Contest” participated by 14 hotels in Koh Samui including Tongsai Bay. Judged by well-known Thai gastronomy Experts: M.L. Sirichalerm Svasti (McDang) and Prof. Srisamorn Khongpun, the contest’s challenge was to apply local Thai ingredients into international specialties. For the main course, contestants created a menu using Sator beans, a pungent kind of local vegetable, in their cooking and used ginger for dessert. The winner received a trophy and a “McDang Guide” certificate. Tongsai Bay's received the runner up prize for most popular dish.
The event was high-lighted by Dancing Marathon Contest, and a fashion show from the leading brands by the country’s top models. With many lucky draw prizes, the frolicsome event concluded with colorful performances and live band concert. |
